Welcome to Art Of Ground Games — a Finnish Jiu-Jitsu brand built on passion, purpose, and a belief that training can be much more than just showing up on the mats.
We began in 2020 with a simple idea:
to build a modern BJJ academy in the center of Helsinki that combines world-class training, community, and service.
Helsinki had many good places to train, but nothing existed right in the heart of the city. Nothing that matched the vision we had for a premium, international-minded academy. So we created it.

THE EARLY YEARS
Our first academy opened in Erottaja in 2020 — right as the world changed.
The first years were challenging because of the pandemic, but they also shaped who we are today. We learned resilience, teamwork, and how to build a community even during difficult times.
2022
A CLEAR DIRECTION
By 2022, we understood something important:
our members come from all over the world.
We decided to embrace this fully.
We shaped our services, coaching, and communication to fit people from many backgrounds, while still staying true to our Finnish roots. Today, we are proud to be an international BJJ academy based in Finland — open to everyone.
2024-2025
GROWTH WE BUILD TOGETHER
In 2024, we opened our second academy in Sörnäinen — larger, more refined, and built on everything we learned in our early years.
Sörnäinen quickly found its identity: a strong mix of committed young athletes and experienced old-schoolers. Everyone trains hard, supports each other, and keeps the atmosphere focused on two things — growth and having fun.
In 2025, we expanded to Espoo and opened our third academy inside the Hybridiarena HYPE in Kivenlahti.
Kivenlahti is now the base of the strongest and most successful kids and teens team in Finland., supported by dedicated coaches and a growing adult team. This academy represents the next step for AOGG: structured training, clear development paths, and a community that grows together.

At Art Of Ground Games, our mission is simple: to help every enthusiast — beginner or advanced — become better in Jiu-Jitsu and in life. We do this with passionate coaches, clean and modern facilities, and a culture built on hard work, good energy, and respect.
